DESCRIPTION

As a great car fan for this project, I decided to do an inventory of a racing game.

CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED

- Finding an interesting racing game concept
- Making an inventory for the first time
- Achieving a balancing with numbers only

BALANCING

To balance I based myself only on the relationship between the different numbers of vehicle parameters.


I made sure to balance the vehicles to make the game as competitive as possible but also to make the settings realistic compared to the visuals of the cars.

With all the parameters, I began to assign values to the vehicles, then I made an Excel to compare them and see where the balancing problems were.


After solving the problems, I made the following document explaining the concept of each vehicle, but also a comprehensive analysis of why on paper the inventory is well balanced.

PARAMETER

For the design of my car game, I chose a racing system where the track will have several environments that will give a challenge to the players .
Being a car game for the balancing I need to choose the car settings:

 

- For the first parameters I took what is basic in this type of game : Acceleration - Maximum Speed and Braking

- Having a game with several environments it is necessary to have more precise parameters to allow a better balancing that's why I added: The weight of the car Grip and aerodynamics

- Being a competitive game, each car will also have a life point parameter.
Players will be able to destroy others or be destroyed.
